Traveling Tuesdays ~ Meet Susan
Happy Tuesday All! I am so excited to be bringing you a new "segment" here at Dawn's Disaster. I contacted a few bloggy friends and asked if they would like to help me out with a few guest posts. Guess what? They said YES! So starting today, I have a new Tuesday...Let's go with...Traveling Tuesdays!
This is a great way for me to learn more about my bloggy friends and to help promote their blog. So, once you're read their fantastic post, stop by their blog and leave them a note. Tell 'em you stopped by from Dawn's Disaster :) If you'd like to be a part of my Traveling Tuesdays, give me a holler or stop by my contact page!
Hi! My name is Susan and I am guest posting from MadebyMommainPA.
If you would like to replicate this design here is my directions (in pictures of course!)
And that is it! Seriously easy, right??
One teensie change if you serge the sleeve to the shirt body-snip off the small tab at the top. I used 1/4" hem allowance the second time when I serged and it needed snipped. The first draft I used 5/8" hem allowance. It's up to you; some old habits die hard (the big four pattern companies use 5/8").
A special THANK YOU to Dawn for letting me guest post on her blog today!

Day 20 - A song that you listen to when you’re angry
Ok, I'm over my anger. I mean, come on...he's so cute! So, I like to listen to this song when I am angry because it cheers me up. It makes me think of when I was younger and could go out and dance around on the dance floor :)
It's ok, you can FF to 1:15 and you won't miss anything =D (Although, the Hubs would say you could just miss the whole thing, but he has no taste when it comes to men...I guess that's a good thing LOL)

Super Sunday Sync #7
Alrighty, 3rd times a charm, right?!? So, 75 it is! We CAN do it :)
This week, Kera and I would like to welcome Cassie from Two In Diapers as our Guest Host! We are so excited that she said she would take the time to Guest Host with us. She has a lot of cool stuff listed on her blog, including a recent post about allergy bracelets (who thought those would be cool?)!
Day 19 - A song from your favorite album
MADE YA LOOK!
Nope, it's not a Justin Timberlake video...he up and got married, so I'm currently mad at him. SO, I'm bringing out an old favorite of mine. I don't exactly know why I love this song. I mean, come on, it's about two women loving the same man...at the same time, and they know about each other and they can't figure out what to do and...I could go on. Seriously, though, it should have been Tricia Yearwood singing with Reba~she already knows how to be the other woman!

The Letter G
I was talking to my mom and she reminded me that I did pump out four kiddos and am now staying at home with three everyday...almost all day long...{cue music} all by myself, don't wanna be, all by myself.

Candle Swap 2012 Is Here!

Joining Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. So, do you like beer?
Um, NO! I think it is SOOO gross. The Hubs likes it, though, so we usually have some around.
2. What's your least favorite repetitive task?
ANYTHING household related. I despise household chores. I think this stems from having a mother (and husband) who are VERY clean, and I am not. I figure I'll pick up when I think it's dirty. By then, someone else generally has either yelled at me to pick it up or has done it themselves.
3. When was the last time you rode a bus? Where was it headed?
A bus? Like 15 years ago, and it was going to my high school. After that, I had my license and drove...
4. What song from your childhood or from your own children's childhood could make a parent's nerves stand on end?
Caillou, oh, that whiny brat. The music comes on and the Hubs changes the station!
5. The US Presidential election cycle is drawing to a close (can I get an AMEN??), and the third and final debate was held last night...what was the last thing you 'debated about'?
If the house was clean or not...I guess it's not...
6. Can a person make too much money? How much is too much?
Yes, a person can make too much money. Enough is when your family is well provided for and you have some left over to put towards good.
7. Pop-soda-coke-something else...what's it called where you live?
It's called pop, I call it DIET COKE :) YUM
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Random thought...gotta go pick up The Big One, so she doesn't have to stand alone at school because all the non-bloggy moms already picked up their Beanie Babies.

Day 18 - A song that you wish you heard on the radio
I love this song. One of the reasons that I love this song is because it can be used for so many different reasons. I believe I heard she wrote it about her daughter, but it applies to my belief in God. I have sung it at my church a few times. I tear up every time I hear it. I wish I heard it more often, because it is so calming for me.

Day 17 - A song that you hear often on the radio
Ok, so I don't really get this song. I had to call my brother to ask him what it was about. Then, after I find out what it's about, I wonder why it is so popular in Asia. The guy is totally slamming all the women! What?!? I so don't get it, except to say, Asian culture is SO different from American culture.

The New Oatmeal Raisin Cookies!
I am a new stay-at-home mom and am overjoyed to be. When The Big One was born, I was able to stay home for her first ten months. Then, the economy hit the Hubs' business and one of us needed to go back to work. I was the unlucky one to get a job first. So, for the last five years, I have been at work and the Hubs worked from home. After the birth of Little Baby, we decided that three was too much for the Hubs and he would go back to full-time work. Well, I thought I would be able to get a lot of baking done while staying at home. NOT SO MUCH. Did you know that babies take up A LOT of time? I guess I forgot how much time they take up after Ms. Middle was born. Or maybe I just missed that much. One thing that I have been able to bake on a regular basis are Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, because they are the Hubs' favorite. I finally have the recipe perfect and wanted to share it with you!
3/4 cup of butter, softened
3/4 cup of lightly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
2 eggs at room temperature
1-1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1-1/2 cup of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2-3/4 cup of old fashioned oats
1-1/2 cup of raisins*
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees (F). Beat butter and both sugars on medium (I set Logan at 3), until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt and mix together. Slowly add dry ingredients to butter mixture and mix well (I set Logan at 1 until all dry is added, then change her to 3). Add oats and mix in. Add raisins and mix in. Drop rounded tablespoons of batter onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes, until golden brown. Cool 1 minute on sheets, then remove to wire racks to completely cool, or to your mouth to enjoy!
*Another option is to add 1 cup raisins and 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Do You Like My New Look? {Giveaway}
Wow! I have a new look, thanks for Desirae at Sommerfugl Designs and her NEW eClass. I was so excited when she offered to help me figure out a new "do" for my blog. It was so plain. It still isn't super fancy, but that's ok, because I'm not either. I learned how to do so many new things with her help.

Day 16 - A song that you used to love but now hate
Well, I don't know it I would classify LOVE-ing these songs, but they sure was popular when I was in my "clubbin'" phase! When I hear one of them come on the radio now, all I can do is laugh. The Hubs knows why, but it's really funny when I am in the car with the Beanie Babies. They look at me like I'm crazy because I laugh and turn the station, chuckling out loud. Anyone want a Vitamin Water?

I Am Featured :)

Day 15 - A song that describes you
It's not so much the words, but the way Gary (Rascal Flatts lead singer) follows through on his commitment to the show and Jamie Fox. The man is at deaths door, and yet the show must still go on. It is great that he did not allow the show to put on a recorded version. Jamie Fox also does a good job of covering in a few places.

NOT A KID FRIENDLY SONG
Day 14 - A song that no one would expect you to love
Yea, so I LOVE this song. A few months ago, the Hubs and I sent to a wedding (our only date without the Beanie Babies in about five years) and this song came on the radio. I cranked that song up and sang the whole thing. The Hubs was like, "um, this song is too old."
